NEXT SOFM - September 21, 2009 WHAT IS SOFM? 'SOFM' stands for School of Frontier Missions This school is focused on training two types of Missionaries :
1. Frontier/Frontline Missionaries, who are living and working among specific groups or clusters of people without an own independent or indigenous church. The Philippine SOFM is training career Missionaries for Reaching Animist, Buddhist and Muslim people in Indochina, Indonesia and the Philippines. They should be dedicated to plant churches among these people groups. 2. Mobilizers These people are dedicated to promote Frontier Missions even at home and recruit Missionaries for Unreached people groups. In short, we train, mobilize and send Missionaries to Unreached People groups or people sharing a common culture and language but have no church of their own. The goal is not to plant churches reflecting our own culture, but their culture and way of worship. If that sounds too challenging for you, don't worry: God is using and preparing ordinary people for extraordinary tasks. If this kind of training will be helpful to empower you for your specific call, you may pray if an SOFM may be the right 'next step' for you.
YWAM Frontier Missions Values
